Shrimp Pasta in BACON CREAM SAUCE! Shrimp and BACON Pasta recipe | Budget Friendly Recipes.

I’m sharing delicious budget friendly recipes using pantry staples. Last night I cleaned out the pantry, refrigerator and freezer and came up with a box of pasta, about a pound of shrimp, some milk and a few strips of bacon so I made this delicious shrimp and bacon pasta recipe. You can easily substitute sausage for bacon and make shrimp and sausage pasta. The sauce is a bechamel made with bacon grease, flour and milk. Budget friendly meal can be delicious! Some spinach would have been great in this too, it wold be fantastic with the bacon cream sauce!

Here’s the recipe:
1 pound of cooked fusilli pasta or your favorite pasta shape (save 1 cup of pasta water)
7 strips of thick bacon cut into 1 inch pieces
1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
1 and 1/2 cups of milk (2% or whole)
1/2 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper
2 teaspoons of Knorr chicken bouillon
1 cup of shredded cheese is optional
You can use a 1/2 pound of smoked sausage in place of bacon
